"There is an underlying language in the design of the things that surround us. This allows us to form new structures and tell new stories when we manipulate or juxtapose them to each other. What's fun for me is to try to find some personality or create a narrative from a pile of inanimate objects. Something familiar that transforms when placed in a new light."
A longtime resident of North Riverside, Illinois, Jim Eichorst has worked in many different media over the years. Included among these are graphics, leatherwork, video, stained glass, and jewelry. Currently he has been making sculpture by recycling found objects, principally metal. He is also a singer songwriter some of whose songs can be found on YouTube.
